Many companies are currently experiencing the transition from manufacturer to manufacturing service provider. In the context of digital transformation, they are accelerating the development of data-based services, interaction on digital platforms and the implementation of new business models. Often the value networks of these historically evolved companies are not suitable - a reorientation is inevitable. Therefore, they are facing the question of how to plan their value network strategically and how to design their business processes and structures efficiently. The aim of this thesis is a specification technique for the description and analyses of value networks. Basically, it consists of a modeling language that enables a concise graphical description of value networks and is suitable as an instrument for descriptive analyses and integrative planning of business models and value networks. For this, a demand-oriented procedure model and suitable tool support interdisciplinary cooperation, efficient modeling and situation-specific application. Four practical cases demonstrate the use of the specification technique.
