Abstract
The starting point of this thesis is the concept of a process in which particles are transported within a Poiseuille flow on a stable and focused trajectory through a pipe by means of the shear-induced particle lift force. The simultaneous heating of the pipe leads to the acceleration and heating of the multi-phase flow, which in turn enables an additive deposition of the particles on the substrate at the outlet of the pipe. By developing an experimental setup with appropriate measuring techniques and implementing a simulation model based on the Euler-Lagrange approach, a comprehensive investigation of the given concept is enabled in this work. These investigations demonstrate the operating principle and provide a deeper understanding of particle behavior within the pipe. Furthermore, process parameters and limits of particle properties required to achieve additive deposition of material by the concept are derived.
